Apple’s aggressive pricing this time is a real boon for consumers, and it’s also a significant boost for Android phones. After all, previous complaints have been addressed, and the price is the first time it’s been described as “affordable.” Therefore, based on the price alone, I highly recommend buying the iPhone 17.

The day before yesterday, I went to try out the Apple iPhone 17 series. I was immediately drawn to the orange version. It looks even better in person than in the pictures. It’s prominently displayed in the store, and it feels light and comfortable in my hand, so I shouldn’t feel tired after using the phone for long periods.

I went for the iPhone 17 Pro. The orange color looks very vibrant to the naked eye, not as dark as online photos. It’s beautiful, but it does make my hands look darker, haha. The silver color is average, and the blue looks a bit old-fashioned.

The new design of the iPhone 17 Pro is very recognizable. The rear camera setup is a clear example of the new Apple model, with the addition of a telephoto lens, which, of course, means the camera is much better.

Let me start with a few things that impressed me. It’s definitely lighter, feels smoother, and the borders look more refined. The screen’s color reproduction is stunning, especially with the new iOS. The brightness and detail are so good that I even stopped using my usual privacy filter, fearing it would obscure the clear, translucent look.

The camera is a real highlight. The 48-megapixel triple camera with 8x optical zoom is a significant improvement over my iPhone 12. I snapped some casual photos of details in stores, and the image quality was clean, with no blur even when zoomed out. This should be very useful for travel photography.

The battery has also been upgraded, with 40W fast charging, which can fully charge in 20 minutes, making it ideal for frequent business and leisure travelers.

The staff said that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have the same camera, but the iPhone 17 Pro is lighter, making it a better choice for frequent photography. I also asked about trade-in options, but my iPhone 12 was worth less than $100.

Overall, I was quite impressed with the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera and battery life. The staff said it’s good for playing large-scale games without lag, but that’s not very useful for me, as I rarely play games anymore. The back is more drop-resistant, which makes it safer, but it’s just too large, making it a bit difficult to use with one hand.

Somewhat surprisingly, I was also quite attracted to the standard iPhone 17, and I noticed quite a few people in the store were buying it.

The staff said the standard iPhone 17 has an upgraded battery, as well as an upgraded front-facing camera and ultra-wide-angle lens. The front lens is capable of shooting photos instantly. From the front, I didn’t notice much difference from the iPhone 17 Pro, but the 17 series’ scrolling is incredibly smooth.

I played with it for quite a while. The standard iPhone 17’s screen is incredibly bright, making it crystal clear even in bright sunlight, and scrolling is incredibly smooth. The telephoto lens used to take photos, and distant shots used to be blurry. Now, even small print on signs is clearly visible, and selfies are much clearer and more natural.

For someone like me who doesn’t play games, just takes photos and needs more memory, and with a price tag of just over 5,000 yuan, the standard version offers incredible value for money! I’m definitely going to buy the standard version!
